This year, the community of Syracuse will host for the Unit Convention. Participating in this year's convention will be friends from the following counties: Albany, Broome, Chenango, Clinton, Columbia, Cort¬land, Delaware, Essex, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Montgomery, Oneida, Onondaga, Orange, Oswego, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saint Lawrence, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren and Washington.
In a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, it is mentioned that “….believers should make every possible effort to attend the meeting for the election of the State or Province delegates, in order to stimulate a large group consciousness which will greatly facilitate the process of the believers becoming acquainted with each other, and provide intermediary state—which will become increasingly valuable and necessary—between the local organization, represented by the activities of the convention and the institution of the National Assembly.”
Therefore, the host community has decided to give the friends more time to get to know one another and interact with friends we don’t see more regularly. This includes time to share community and cluster learning and consult together, socialize and meet new friends over games and terrific food as well as enjoying mu¬sic and devotions.
To make the experience even more enjoyable, there will be children's classes planned for ages 5 to 12. With parental assistance, childcare for ages 2 to 4 is also available.
