Participants in the Ruhí Book 6 in Schenectady have, for a few months now, been organizing a series of firesides for the public with featured speakers on the Bahá'í Faith. These firesides are being publicized in the local newspaper and on Local Cable access channels.
The latest in this series was a fireside by Brenda Thomas held on September 26th at the Bahá'í Reading Room in Schenectady. This ongoing series has been very interesting since every speaker features a different topic presented through their own understanding of it. On July 25th Dr. Peter Kramer spoke about the "Harmony of Science and Religion" which was attended by about 15 people. On August 29th the Junior Youth provided a presentation on "I'm a Bahá'í, ask me why" and were visited by Regional Bahá'í Council member Chet Makoski. The next Fireside will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 31st at the Bahá'í Reading Room and will include a presentation by John and Sue Rafalak. If you would like to volunteer please contact Brenda Thomas at 393¬0317. Refreshments are served.
